Q. I Answer the following questions in 2-3 sentences each.
1. Why did Nakula felt terribly drowsy?
Answer: Nakula was very thirsty. He wanted to quench his thirst, so he did not heed the warning of unseen voice. He drank water and began to feel terribly drowsy.
2. Why did the Yaksha give Yudhistira a boon?
Answer: Yaksha gave yudhistira a boon when Yudhistira confidently answered all the questions posed by the Yaksha, which pleased the Yaksha very much.
3. Why did invisible being laugh at Arjuna?
Answer: Arjuna became angry and shot sharp arrows in the direction of the voice, but the arrows couldn’t kill it. Therefore, the invisible being laughed at Arjuna.
4. Why did Pandavas grow more and more weary and thirsty?
Answer: One day, the Pandavas wandered deep into the forest in pursuit of a deer. The sun was hot and overhead. So, they were grown weary and thirsty.

5. What blessing did Yama bestow upon Yudhishthira?
Answer: Yama blessed Yudhishthira, stating that only a few days remained to complete the stipulated period of their exile in the forest. The thirteenth year would also pass without incident. None of their enemies would be able to discover them, and they would successfully fulfil their undertaking.
6. What was the warning of Yaksha to Yudhistira?
Answer: This was the warning of Yaksha to Yudhistira: ‘‘Your brothers died because they did not heed my words. Do not follow them. Answer my questions and then quench your thirst. This pool is mine.”

7. Why did Yudhistira choose Nakula in preference to Bhima?
Answer: Yudhistira’s father had two wives namely Kunti and Madri. He was the son of Kunti, and was already surviving. Nakula was the son of Madri who was not alive. Therefore, he chose Nakula in preference to Bhima.
8. Why did Yudhistira sent Arjuna to see whether the brothers had met with any danger?
Answer: When Nakula did not return for a long time, Yudhistira sent Sahadeva to see what the matter was. Sahadeva also ignored the warning; he drank the water at once dropped down. When Sahadeva too failed to return. Yudhistira sent Arjuna to see whether the brothers had met with any danger.
