The Balloon Man by Rose Fyleman
He always comes on market days
And holds balloons a lovely bunch
And in the market square he stays,
And never seems to think of lunch.
They’re red and purple, blue, and green,
And when it is a sunny day
The carts and people get between
You see them shining far way.
Activity 1.1: Complete the following activities:
A. Answer the following questions:
1. Who always comes on market days? Describe him.
Ans: Balloon man always comes on market days. He is known as Rose Fyleman. He holds bunch of lovely balloons. He comes to market square to sold variety of coloured balloons.
2. Describe your experience of meeting a balloon man and buying balloons.
Ans: One day I and my father went to a village fair. We saw a balloon man. He was singing a song on balloon. I requested my father to buy me a red balloon. We purchased it for 10 rupees. I am very happy with that. But on the way to house it burst out. I felt disappointed. My father assured me to buy another one.
B. List out the rhyming words:
1. Days – Answer: pays, lays, rays, says.
2. Blue – Answer: clue, flue, glue, slue.
C. Complete the following:
