ಈ ಕವಿತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಕವಿ ಯೌವನವನ್ನು ಮಾನವ ಜೀವನದ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಅವಧಿ ಎಂದು ವಿವರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇದು ಜೀವನಕ್ಕೆ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಬಣ್ಣವನ್ನು ತರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಮಧುರವಾದ ಹಂತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಕಳೆದು ಹೋದರೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಒಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಯೌವನವನ್ನು ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿ ಬಳಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾವು ಜೀವನದ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ.

It Never Comes Again summary in English:
Stanza 1:
“There are gains for all our losses,
There are balms for all our pain,
But when youth, the dream, departs,
It takes something from our hearts,
And it never comes again.”
The poet is talking about youth. We gain a lot from it and lose when it leaves. According to the poet, when it leaves it takes away something from our heart. We can never get that back again.
Stanza 2:
“We are stronger, and are better,
Under manhood’s sterner reign;
Still we feel that something sweet
Followed youth, with flying feet,
And will never come again.”
In this stanza, the poet says that we are all stronger and better in our youth. Everything is sweet and dreamy. Youth is the sweetest phase in one’s life. It is like a dream. It leaves with flying feet.
Stanza 3:
“Something beautiful is vanished,
And we sigh for it in vain;
We behold it everywhere,
On the earth, and in the air,
But it never comes again.”
When youth leaves, we search for it everywhere on the earth and in air. We crave for it. But once gone, it never comes back. We then can realise; how beautiful it was.
