‘The Song of India’ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರಾಂಶ :
‘The Song of India’ ಕವಿತೆಯು ಕವಿ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾತೃಭೂಮಿಯ ನಡುವಿನ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆಯ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿದೆ.
ಕವಿ ಹಿಮಾಲಯ, ಸಾಗರಗಳು, ಮೂರು ಸಮುದ್ರಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಕಿರಣಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹಾಡಲು ಬಯಸಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ತಾಯಿ ಭಾರತಿ ಅವರು ಭಿಕ್ಷುಕ, ಕುಷ್ಠರೋಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅಪ್ರಬುದ್ಧ ಜನರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹಾಡಲು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಕವಿ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಗಳು, ಸೈನಿಕರು, ದಾರ್ಶನಿಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹಾಡಲು ಬಯಸಿದಾಗ. ಭಾರತ ಮಾತೆಯು ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಜೀವನೋಪಾಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟು ದುಡಿಯುವ ಲಕ್ಷಾಂತರ ಜನರು, ಅನುಭವಿ, ಅಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮಂಕಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಕತ್ತಲೆಯ ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹಾಡಲು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಅಣೆಕಟ್ಟುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸರೋವರಗಳು, ಉಕ್ಕಿನ ಕಾರ್ಖಾನೆಗಳು, ಹಡಗು ಕಟ್ಟಡದ ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳು, ಆಧುನಿಕ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಮಾಣು ಯುಗದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹಾಡಬಹುದಾ ಎಂದು ಕವಿ ಆತಂಕದಿಂದ ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ಅವಳು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಿನ ಮತ್ತು ವರ್ತಮಾನದ ಹೋರಾಟದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ವರ್ಗ ಯುದ್ಧದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹಾಡಲು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ.
ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ, ಕವಿತೆಯು ಆಶಾವಾದಿ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನದಿಂದ ಕೊನೆಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ, ಭಾರತ ಮಾತೆಯು ಅಲೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತು ನಮ್ಮ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದ ಹಣೆಬರಹವನ್ನು ಬರೆಯುವ ಅತ್ಯುನ್ನತ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಅವತರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

The Song of India summary in English:
The poem ‘The Song of India’ is in the form of dialogue between the poet and the motherland.
The poet wanted to sing about the Himalayas, oceans, three seas and golden rays of sun. But mother India wishes him to sing about beggar, leaper and untrodden people.
When the poet wished to sing about temples, soldiers, seers and prophets. Mother India becomes furious and orders him to sing about millions of people who work hard for their livelihood, the old and experienced, ignorant and helpless children dwelling in bleak and dark homes.
The poet asks nervously if he would sing about dams and lakes, steel mills, ship building yards, modern technology and atomic age. But she forces him to sing about struggle of the past and present and also about class war.
Finally, the poem ends with optimistic view, motherland sitting on the waves incarnating the supreme power to write the destiny of our nation.
