A. Read the following and enact these in groups.
At the shopping mall
Shopkeeper: Welcome to our shopping mall, sir.
Customer: Thank you.
Shopkeeper: How can I help you, Sir?
Customer: I want a pair of shoes for my grandson.
Shopkeeper: Please have a look at this showcase. You can see all kinds of shoes.
Customer: Thank you. Please show me the third pair in the second row.
B. Write the dialogues
1. Prepare a dialogue for how you would talk at a stationery shop while buying things.
Answer:
Shopkeeper: Welcome to our shopping mall, sir.
Customer: Thank you.
Shopkeeper: How can I help you, sir?
Customer: I want a good watch.
Shopkeeper: Ladies or gents?
Customer: A lady’s watch, please.
Shopkeeper: Ok look this one.
Customer: What’s the price?
Shopkeeper: 1250 only.
Customer: Ok, pack this one.
Shopkeeper: Ok sir, Thank you.
2. Imagine you are at the bank to open an account; how do you start the conversation?
Answer:
Kiran : Hello, sir I’m Kiran.
Manager : Yes, what can I do for you, Sir?
Kiran : Sir, I want to open a Savings Bank Account in your branch.
Manager : You are welcome to do so, sir.
Kiran : Sir, Which document do you need?
Manager : Aadhar card and photos.
Kiran : Ok sir. Thank you.

Ramadasa: Thank you. This way, isn’t it? Naveen: Yes. Don’t mention it.
Situation 2
Sujatha: Can you give me directions to the North Indian restaurant?
Ronald: Yes, sure. Do you know the supermarket?
Sujatha: Yes.
Ronald: When you get to the supermarket, take the first left. You’ll pass a shopping mall. The North Indian restaurant is next to the mall.
Sujatha: Thank you very much.
