1. When two or more singular nouns are joined by ‘and’, the pronoun used for them must be plural.

E.g: Anjali and Priya went to school. Their school is English medium.

2. When two singular nouns joined by ‘and’ refer to the same person or thing, the pronoun should be singular.

E.g: The teacher and head master is doing his work sincerely.

3. When two singular nouns joined by ‘and’ are preceded by ‘each’ or ‘every’, then the pronoun must be singular.

E.g: Every clerk and every teacher was in his office room.

4. When two or more singular nouns are joined by ‘or’, either…..or, neither……nor, the pronoun is generally singular.

E.g: 1. Neither Vedant nor Manish has completed his homework.

2. Either Sham or Jayaram must help his father.

5. When a plural and a singular noun are joined by ‘or’ or ‘nor’, the pronoun must be in the plural.

E.g: Either principal or his assistants tried to do their duty.

6. Don’t use object pronouns in place of subject pronouns.

1. Sham and me went to temple. (incorrect)

Sham and I went to temple. (correct)

2. Him and me ready to go now. (incorrect)

He and I ready to go now. (correct)

7. Don’t use subject pronouns in place of object pronouns.

1. He met Shreya and I. (incorrect)

He met Shreya and me. (correct)

2. Asha sat between you and I. (incorrect)

Asha sat between you and me. (correct)
