Poem summary in Kannada:
ಮೊದಲ ಚರಣದಲ್ಲಿ, ಕವಿ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಿಯತಮೆಯು ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಅವಳು ವಯಸ್ಸಾಗುತ್ತಾಳೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅವಳ ಕೂದಲು ಬೂದು ಬಣ್ಣಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಅವಳು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲೂ ನಿದ್ರಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಅವಳು ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಬಳಿ ಕುಳಿತು ನಿದ್ರಾಹೀನತೆಯಿಂದ ತಲೆಯಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ನಂತರ ಅವಳು ಈ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ನಿಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಓದಬೇಕು. ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕವು ಅವಳ ನಿಜವಾದ ಮೌಲ್ಯದ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ. ತನ್ನ ವೃದ್ಧಾಪ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅವಳು ಸಿಹಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸೌಮ್ಯ ನೋಟವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದ ಯೌವನದ ದಿನಗಳನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಈ ಸಾಲುಗಳು ಪ್ರಿಯತಮೆಯ ಹಳೆಯ ದಿನಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅವಳು ಕಣ್ಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯುವ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದ ದಿನಗಳ ಯೌವನದ ನಡುವಿನ ತೀಕ್ಷ್ಣವಾದ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಪಡಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.
ಎರಡನೆಯ ಚರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕವಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಿಯತಮೆಗೆ ಅವಳು ವಯಸ್ಸಾದಾಗ ಅವಳು ಯೌವನದ ಹಳೆಯ ದಿನಗಳನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾಳೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅವಳ ದೈಹಿಕ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವ ಅನೇಕ ಪ್ರೇಮಿಗಳು ಇದ್ದರು. ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ನಿಜ ಅಥವಾ ಸುಳ್ಳಾಗಿದ್ದವು. ಆದರೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಇದ್ದನು, ಕವಿ ಸ್ವತಃ, ಅವಳ ಆಂತರಿಕ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಕವಿಯು ಅವಳ ಯೌವನದ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ದುಃಖಗಳ ಮುಖವನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಜೀವನದ ಕೊನೆಯವರೆಗೂ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಇದು ಸಮಯ ಅಥವಾ ಬದಲಾಗುವ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅದು ಶಾಶ್ವತ ಪ್ರೀತಿ.

Poem summary in English:
In the first stanza, the poet says that his beloved one day she will become old. Her hair will turn gray. She will feel sleepy all the time. She will sit by the fire and nod drowsily. Then she should pick up this book, which contains this love and read it slowly. This book will tell her love of real worth. In her old age, she should recall the days of youth when she had sweet and gentle looks. These lines present a sharp contrast between the old days of the beloved and the youth of the days when she had an eye-catching beauty.
In the second stanza the Poet tells his beloved that when she grows old she would recall the old days of youth. There were so many lovers who loved her physical beauty. Some of them were true or false. But there was one man, the poet himself, who loved her pilgrim soul. The poet not only loved her youthful beauty but also the face of sorrows. He will love her till the end of life. It does not change with time or the beauty of changing, because it is eternal love.
In the third stanza the poet visualizes a time when his beloved will grow old. Her body will bend down beside the bar’s fire place. In a melancholic mood, she will recall how their love has disappeared into overhead mountains and amid a crowd of stars. All her lovers left because her physical beauty is gone. But the poet’s love is permanent. It will never change.
