On Children poem summary in Kannada:
ಕಹ್ಲೀಲ್ ಗಿಬ್ರಾನ್ ಒಬ್ಬ ಲೆಬನಾನ್-ಅಮೇರಿಕನ್ ಕವಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸರಳ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಕಾವ್ಯಾತ್ಮಕ ಪ್ರಬಂಧಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವನದ ಉನ್ನತ ತತ್ವಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಹೊರತರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವರ “On Children” ಕವನದಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪೋಷಕರ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳ ವಿಮರ್ಶೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
ಕಹ್ಲೀಲ್ ಗಿಬ್ರಾನ್ ಅವರ ‘On Children’ ಒಂದು ಚಿಂತನ-ಪ್ರಚೋದಕ ಕವಿತೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಪೋಷಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುವಾಗ ಹೇಗೆ ಯೋಚಿಸಬೇಕು, ಅವರನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಆಸ್ತಿ ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸದೆ ಸಾರ್ವತ್ರಿಕ ಆತ್ಮದ ಭಾಗವೆಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ.
ಮಹಿಳೆಯೊಬ್ಬಳು ತನ್ನ ಮಗುವನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಎದೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯ ಸಲಹೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕವಿತೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯವರು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾವ್ಯಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲ, ಅವರು ಜೀವನದ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ಈಶ್ವರನಾದ ಬಿಲ್ಲುಗಾರನಿಗೆ ಹಾರುವ ಬಾಣಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗಿರುವ ಬಿಲ್ಲು ಎರಡನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವ ಕಾರಣ ಬಿಲ್ಲುಗಾರನು ಬಿಲ್ಲು ಬಗ್ಗಿಸುವ ರೀತಿಗೆ ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳು ಸಂತೋಷಪಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಕವಿ ಕಾವ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
On Children poem summary in English:
Kahlil Gibran is a Lebanese-American poet who brings out high philosophy of life in his simple and beautiful poetic essays. His “On Children” is a critique of the usual expectations of parents about their children.
‘On Children’ by Kahlil Gibran is a thought-provoking poem. The poem talks about how parents should think while upbringing their children. Not thinking of them as their property but as a part of the universal soul.
The poem begins with a women holding her child against her bosom. And asking prophet for his advice on rising children. The prophet expresses his views about children in a poetic manner and says that their children are not their children, they are the children of life belonging itself.
2nd puc english poems summary
Parents are just a medium through which they enter into the world. Though they stay with their parents, they don’t belong to them. The prophet says that the parents can give their love to their children. But cannot pass on their thoughts on them as they have their own thoughts. And they are belonging to the future which cannot be for casted or visited, not even in dreams of the parents.
Parents can strive to be live their children but not make them like themselves. The prophet compares child with an arrow. Parents with bow and the archer is the God. Who sends his arrows swift and far. At the end, to conclude the prophet says that the archer loves both the bow that is stable and arrow which flies.
The poet concludes the poem by saying that: The parents should be glad at the way the archer bends the bow. Because the archer that is God loves both the arrows that flies and also the bow that is stable.
