ಚಕ್ರವರ್ತಿಗೆ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಹಳ ಕೋಪವಿತ್ತು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರ ಡ್ರೆಸ್ಸಿಂಗ್ ರೂಮ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಹೊಸ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳಿಲ್ಲ. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಟೈಲರ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಗಡಿಪಾರು ಮಾಡಲು ಚಕ್ರವರ್ತಿ ಆದೇಶಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೊಸ ಟೈಲರ್‌ಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಹೊಸ ಉಡುಗೆ ಬೇಕು. ಹೋಗಿ ಹೊಸ ಟೈಲರ್ ಗಳನ್ನು ಕರೆತರುವಂತೆ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರರಿಗೆ ಆದೇಶಿಸಿದರು.

The Emperor’s New Clothes summary in English:
[Once upon a time there lived a proud and foolish Emperor who was very fond of wearing new clothes. To him new clothes meant more than anything else in the world. Indeed, he spent so many hours every day in his dressing room trying out new clothes, that he had very little time to attend to the affairs of his kingdom.]
SCENE – I
The Emperor was very angry on the Chief Adviser. Because he don’t have any new clothes in his dressing room. The Emperor ordered banish all the tailors from here. He want new tailors and new dress. He ordered the Chief Adviser to go and bring new tailors.
Chief Adviser tolds that two magic weavers are waiting outside. They’ve found a secret way of weaving the finest silk cloth and making the most beautiful clothes from the cloth that they weave. They claim to be magic tailors.
The Emperor agreed and ordered to call them. Then the two weavers started to explain how they will prepare new magic clothes for the Emperor. First weaver told that we need large quantity of silk and gold. Second weaver told that we require several jewels to sew on your new dress.
The Emperor agreed and told that the Chief Adviser will give all you required. But you need to complete your word within two days. I will provide room for you in the palace. I shall wear the new clothes in the procession that I am expected to lead, two days later.
First weaver asked sorry to the Emperor for not bringing clothes. But he explains they have discovered a magic way of making clothes. Second weaver told colours and attractive patterns of new clothes. The Emperor felt happy by these words and asked to tell details of the new clothes.
First weaver told that only wise man can see these magic clothes. only wise men can see what you are wearing, but fools will not be able to see it. Second weaver told by wearing these clothes, you will be able to judge your ministers and your officers very easily. Those who’re foolish and unfit for their work will not see anything
The Emperor felt happy by these words and he will not only get a new set of clothes, but also be able to find out who are fit to manage the affairs of his kingdom and who are not.
SCENE – II
[The two weavers are seen working on the looms pretending to weave. They had put away in their bags all the fine silk, the gold thread and the jewels which were given to them for making the new clothes]
Chief Adviser enters into the weaving room to check their work. He saw two weavers were working very hard. But he couldn’t see any cloth on the looms. Then both the weavers welcomed him and started to explain of new clothes.
Second weaver showed the pattern, circles and the flowing lines to the Chief Adviser. First Weaver told about colours: dark red and sky blue colours on the gold background
Chief Adviser couldn’t see anything. But he felt that only wise men can see magic dress. He thought himself that he was unfit for the job. So to hide this truth he told that clothes are very beautiful and the Emperor will like this. Finally, he decided to send Special Assistant to see what really is happening there.
SCENE – III
[The Special Assistant enters the room. He shows a great surprise when he sees the two weavers working on the two looms with no trace of any cloth or thread on it]
The Special Assistant visits the weaving room. He also saw that two weavers are weaving. But he couldn’t see anything. Then both the weavers welcomed him and started to explain of new clothes.
First Weaver told that the Chief Adviser liked these clothes. You may also like. He shows beautiful circles and flowing lines. Second weaver showed the colours; the dark red and the sky blue on the gold background.
Special Assistant couldn’t see anything. But he remembered pattern and colours of the clothes. He thought that only wise men can see magic dress. He thought himself that he was unfit for the job. So to hide this truth he told that clothes are very beautiful and the Emperor will like this.
SCENE – IV The Emperor’s New Clothes
The Emperor enters the Hall followed by the Chief Adviser, the Special Assistant and other courtiers. The two weavers come in bowing to the emperor.
Chief Adviser went to the Emperor and asked to show himself on the balcony. Because the people are waiting outside to see the Emperor in his new clothes.
The Emperor told that I’ve just put on the wonderful clothes these tailors have made for me. I’ll come as soon as I am ready. [The Emperor is seen coming out of the dressing room almost naked and walking through the hall towards the balcony.]
The courtiers show great surprise to see the Emperor having little clothes on his body. But no one says anything because they have been told that only wise men will be able to see the Emperor’s new clothes, and the fools and the people who are unfit for their post will not see them.
Loud cheers are heard from the crowd standing on the road outside. When the Emperor reaches the balcony, cheers stop all of a sudden and there is pin-drop silence. Then the voice of a little child is heard crying out with laughter, “Look, look Daddy, the Emperor has no clothes on at all. Has the king become very poor? Doesn’t he have money to buy clothes”? ]
