– He wished to sing about temples, seers and prophets.

– He wished to sing about dams, lakes, steel mills & ship yards.

– Mother India asked to sing about the beggars and sufferings.

– Mother India asked to sing about class war and orphans.

– He had a vision of mother rising and sitting on the throne.

– She wrote ‘The book of Morrow’.

Grandma Climbs a Tree short summary:

– Poet calls his grandmother genius.

-She learnt climbing trees at six by her brother.

-Even at the age of 62 she used to climb trees.

-One day she climbed a tree but could not come down.

-Jazz player is a poor old black man.His face is unshaven and wrinkled.

Wears faded torn clothes.

He has a Saxophone across his chest.

He keeps his head down and appears lifeless.

When he plays, he is filled with a new life.

He is like a bird flying higher and higher.

There is power in his music.

He conveys the message of God through music.

But when he stops, he becomes a black man.
