Somebody’s Mother summary in Kannada:
‘Somebody’s Mother’ ಎಂಬ ಕವನವನ್ನು ಮೇರಿ ಡೋ ಬ್ರೈನ್ ರಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕವಯಿತ್ರಿ ನಮಗೆ ಸಹಾಯದ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆ ಹೊಂದಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಕರುಣೆ ಒಂದು ಉತ್ತಮ ಗುಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ನಾವು ದಯಾಳು ಆಗಿದಾಗ, ಅದು ಹಬ್ಬಿ, ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ರೀತಿ ನಮಗೆ ಮರಳಿ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಇದು ತೀವ್ರ ಚಳಿಯ ಒಂದು ಸಂಜೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಶಾಲೆಯ ಸಮೀಪದ ಒಂದು ರಸ್ತೆ ಬಳಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ವೃದ್ಧೆ ಬೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ದಾಟಲು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು. ಆಕೆ ತುಂಬಾ ವಯಸ್ಸಾಗಿದ್ದಳು, ಬೂದು ಬಣ್ಣದ ಕೂದಲಿದ್ದವು, ಮತ್ತು ಆಕೆ ಬಡವಾಗಿದ್ದಳು. ಆಕೆಯ ಬಟ್ಟೆ ಹರಿದಿದ್ದವು, ಮತ್ತು ಆಕೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಒಂಟಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಳು. ಆಕೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಹಳ ಸಮಯವಾಯಿತು, ಆದರೆ ಯಾರೂ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದಿದ್ದ ಕೆಲವು ಹುಡುಗರ ಗುಂಪೊಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು, ಚೈತನ್ಯದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದ್ದವನು, ಆ ವೃದ್ಧೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡನು. ಅವನು ಓಡಿ ಬಂದು ಆಕೆಗೆ ದಾರಿ ದಾಟಲು ಸಹಾಯಮಾಡಿದನು. ಆ ಹುಡುಗ ವೃದ್ಧೆಯ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ಆತನ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠ ಭುಜದ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಜಾಗ್ರತೆಯಿಂದ ರಸ್ತೆ ದಾಟಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದನು.
ಆ ಹುಡುಗನು ವೃದ್ಧೆಯ ಕಂಪಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳನ್ನು ಜಾಗ್ರತೆಯಿಂದ ನಡೆಸಿ, ತನ್ನ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠ ಭುಜಗಳಿಂದ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸಿದನು. ನಂತರ, ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು, ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಅವನ ತಾಯಿ ಕೂಡ ಇಂತಹ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರಬಹುದು, ಮತ್ತು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬರು ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು. ಆ ರಾತ್ರಿ, ಆ ವೃದ್ಧೆ ತನ್ನ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಿದ ಹುಡುಗನಿಗಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದಳು.

‘Somebody’s Mother’ is a poem written by Mary Dow Brine. The poetess tells us that we should help those in need. Kindness is a good quality. When we are kind, it spreads and comes back to us in different ways.
It was a cold winter evening. An old woman was standing by a busy road near a school, waiting to cross. She was very old, with grey hair, and she looked poor. Her dress was torn, and she was all alone. She had been standing there for a long time, but no one noticed her or even looked her way.
When the school ended, children came out. They walked past the old woman, but none of them paid any attention to her. She was afraid to cross the road, worried that the horses or carriage wheels might hurt her.
A group of happy boys came by, and one of them, who was cheerful and full of life, saw the old woman waiting. He ran to her and helped her cross the road. She placed her old hand on his strong young arm.
The boy gently guided her shaky steps and supported her with his strong arms. Later, he told his friends that one day his own mother might be in the same situation, and someone else would help her.
That night, the old lady prayed for the boy who helped her. Her heart was full of thankfulness and pride. She prayed, “God, be kind to him, someone’s son!”
