ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 15 ರಂದು ಭಾರತದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದು 1947 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತವು ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷ್ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದ ದಿನ. ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯು ನಮಗೆ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರರ ಹೋರಾಟ ಮತ್ತು ತ್ಯಾಗವನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ನಮ್ಮ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಸಂಭ್ರಮದಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಆ ದಿನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಶಾಲಾ ಸಮವಸ್ತ್ರ ಧರಿಸಿ ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆಯೇ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ತೆರಳಿದರು. ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು, ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ 8 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಧ್ವಜಾರೋಹಣವನ್ನು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದರು. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗೀತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಬಳಿಕ ಭಾಷಣ, ದೇಶಭಕ್ತಿ ಗೀತೆ ಮತ್ತಿತರ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು ನಡೆದವು.
ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಮತ್ತು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದ ಅವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಕನಸುಗಳ ನವ ಭಾರತವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ನಂತರ ಮುಖ್ಯೋಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯರು ವಂದನಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಯಿತು. ನಂತರ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರೆದಿದ್ದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಸಿಹಿ ಹಂಚಲಾಯಿತು.

Our country celebrates Independence Day on 15th August all over India. This was the day in 1947 when India got her freedom from British rule. Independence Day reminds us about the struggle and sacrifices of the Freedom fighters.
Our school celebrated Independence Day with great pleasure. On the day, the students went to school early in the morning dressed in school uniform. The honourable president, chief guest and all the teachers were present there. At about 8 a.m. our president hoisted the National Flag. The function started with the national song. This was followed by speeches, patriotic songs and other cultural programmes.
At last, the president and the chief guest made speeches in which they called upon the students to build a new India of our dreams. Then the Headmaster gave a vote of thanks. The function came to a close. Then sweets were distributed among the people present on the occasion.

Independence Day celebration in school go beyond mere festivities. By celebrating freedom and instilling a deep sense of patriotism in the hearts of students. This programme inspired for shaping young minds into responsible citizens.

Our country was under British rule for some time. We fought for our country’s freedom. On the day of 15th August 1947, we got our freedom. That is why 15th august is our independence day. This day reminds us of many sacrifices.
The prime minister raises the national flag on this occasion every year. We heard many patriotic songs on this day. Patriotic functions are shown on television. People enjoy this day by staying at home.
Every streets and building are decorated with the national flag. The national ceremony is held in the Red Fort. People of all ages gather near the Red Fort in the morning. The prime minister addresses the audience after the ceremony.
